Waimea Sunset In Paradise!

Today we had an AWESOME day!!..
Stayed at the beach all day filming the boys surfing and preparing for the Pipe Comp.
There were some great waves to be had, the swell has picked up and you can actually see that it is going to increase hour by hour. Its amazing how pipe works!!..



Anyways, we decided that it was finally time to visit Waimea cemetery to watch the sunset.
Santiago, Julia, Justin, Magno and Myself took the mustang up and then hyked around through the bush to find this place Magno knew about.

It was amazing, when we got to the Ridge, you could see Waimea beach and everything!...
AMAZING!

Media Takes Time Out For Science

Today we were greeted by an Aussie guy who wanted to interview the Science Bodyboarding Team.

It was setup in Mike's backyard and i decided to take a few photos for reference.

Tallying Up The Sunsets!

Well, there hasnt been much action lately on the North Shore..

Smallish waves, but great winds have allowed for some small but fun surf.

We were greeted by another sunset and these have been absolutely awesome!

Thats pretty much it from me today!

Beauty Barreling By!

Well today was absolutely crazy waves. Perfect conditions in the morning until around 3pm. Then the wind started to change but around 5pm it was back to normal again!...

All day i filmed and photographed and captured some awesome stuff. Pics to come later.

I went back to Magno's place and recharged my camera battery and we had a chat.
After finally convincing me, it was time to experience Pipeline from the water this time.

I was very nervous, even though it was only like 6-8ft in the afternoon, having these Heavy waves roll in in no less than a meter of water does get scary. Nowhere to go when they land on your head!. Good thing that there is a channel.

So it was time, camera came off the charge and housing was prepared.
It was GO TIME!!... We walked along the beach to Pipe seeing these crazy barrels rolling in to the crowd.

I swam out with the housing and Magno paddled out with his board. He instructed me on where to stay and what to watch.

I was amazed and dazed at what i was seeing.
UNBELIEVABLE waves barreling in front of my eyes!...
It was like something you would see of a full professional Jack McCoy film. Beautiful colours and awesome waves.


It rained whilst i was out there as well, which calmed down the weather and it became Beautiful!.

I managed to get some great shots for my first time, i stayed further out towards the channel and used the zoom until i became more confident then i moved in a little. A little shaky but very happy with what i captured.

I stayed out in the water filming until the sun fell. Watched a beautiful sunset whilst watching Barrels that were perfect in texture and colour rolling in.

Carnivale in Hawaii!

Even know your not in Brazil Carnivale is still all around the world. Brazilians are everywhere!!..Hahaha

Carnivale is currently on in Brazil and im sure everyone is partying like crazy!.

Linda mentioned to Me that there was a party on downtown, being the Carnivale and it would be heaps of fun.
So we had no plans for the night, i talked to the other Uzmi crew and everyone was down for a party on Saturday night!..

I experienced my first Mini Carnivale here in Hawaii and i had an absolute ball!..

Felipe drove the Uzmi Bus downtown and I mixed the drinks in the manmade bar in the back for everyone else!!..

We then went to a club and had some fun. Didnt stay for long as it was getting late and we had to drive over an hour home.

Few were hungry and we were in search of something open at the early hours of the morning.

We found a Maccas but it had just closed. With some sweet talking the re-opened just for us and closed the doors.

Crazy here, Mc Chickens are $1, Double Cheeseburgers are $1... they have this Dollar Menu...Crazy..But no more maccas for me. Gotta keep eating healthy!!.. :D
